On Saturday 3rd July 2010, we will be holding our 9th annual show, it’s
wonderful to see how popular the whole day has become with exhibitors coming
from far and near to support us.
From small beginnings it now encompasses, pedigree & novelty classes
(including K.C. companion club class), and obedience classes.
There is a fun obstacle course running throughout the day with prizes for the
fastest time. Of course, there is the serious side to the day, and in the past 8
years, we have been able to support several worthy good causes.
These include:
- The Jerry Green Rescue Centres (twice)
- The Mayflower Animal Sanctuary
- The Dogs Trust
- Laxton Sports & Recreation Field
- Babworth Animal Rescue
- Halfway Home Dog Rescue
- The Retired Greyhound Trust
- Help For Heroes
- The Animal Accident Rescue Unit
This year we are very aware of the economic situation we all face, but we will
endeavour to raise as much money as possible for our nominated charity, which is
The BeeJay Dog Rescue, which is based at Bircotes campaign, a fabulous little
charity,
Which only came into existence in July 2008
Our obedience judge for this year is Mrs. Pat Quinn, a well-known lady in the
obedience trials fraternity and our dog show judging (excluding classes 6 & 7)
is Ms Karen Jennison, who has been a great supporter of our little show for many
years.
We are always pleased to support young talent, and this year is no exception,
judging our Junior Handling classes (6 & 7) will be Master Ashley Jennison
Ashley, 15, is well known, not only for his showing prowess but also for his
agility and flyball achievements.
In the pedigree championship show ring, including Crufts, he has achieved many
firsts, handling for other people, and reaching the finals for Richmond Junior
Champion of the Year.
His achievements in agility and flyball are top notch, including Junior Agility
Handler of the year 2008-2009 and for two years in a row, he is the Flyball
Junior Handler of the Year, also obtaining the Gold Award along the way
